Side note: Stacking (untitled) with At The Barber's is highly recommended!!! Thankfully, I get a solid 6 hours from the four I own. The only issue I've noticed with Margiela fragrances is that they don't have amazing (MFK-level) longevity or sillage, and I'd pay handsomely for bottles with better performance. The former is a great stay-at-home or "chill night" fragrance because it isn't invasive or too powerful, while the latter is fun yet sophisticated enough for a myriad of spring/summer settings. Whispers smells like a very old book (woody/vanilla/spicy) and (untitled) is woody with green/cedar and citrus notes. I'd still give them a very strong recommendation, but Whispers in the Library and (untitled), are extremely underrated. One of the staffers sprayed my shopping bag with (untitled) on my way out and I was immediately sold.įast forward a year or two and my Margiela collection looks like this (in order of purchase date) Margiela (untitled), At the Barber's, Whispers in the Library, By the Fireplace.ĭespite being great in their own right, Fireplace and Jazz Club seem to distract buyers from the wide array of styles Margiela has to offer. I was first introduced to Margiela's fragrances after visiting and shopping at their Paris showroom bordering Jardin du Palais Royal.
